The iPhone X has been on everyone’s lips since Apple officially announced the device at its September event. The brand new iPhone X is a huge improvement over the previous model, with a new design, Face ID, and much more, making it a perfect choice for Apple fans who were expecting something special from Apple this year.
While the whole world is now focused on the special iPhone, Apple also announced the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus at this year’s event. The two standard iPhone models act as successors to the current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with the introduction of wireless charging, True Tone display, and A11 Bionic chip.
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are the better choices for those users who don’t stand the staggering $1000 price tag of the iPhone X.
In this article, we have compiled a list of the best new features of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Before we begin, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be available for pre-order starting on September 15 and hit retail stores worldwide on September 22. New glass design
This year, Apple has adopted a new glass design on all the three iPhone models. In reality, this is not the first time we have seen a glass iPhone, as Apple once used the same glass back design on its iPhone 4. The glass back design was once a fan favorite back in 2011 when Apple first launched the iPhone 4, so it seems pretty plausible that Apple wants to bring it back this year to replace the boring aluminum body.
The glass back gives the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus a slightly lighter feel and a solid hands-on experience. The Touch ID button is still there at the bottom front of the device, but it has been upgraded for better authentication.
A11 Bionic chip
The new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are powered by Apple’s A11 Bionic chip, offering a significant boost in performance over the A10 chip found in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Apple’s new chip features 2 performance cores and 4 high-efficiency cores. According to some early benchmarks for the Apple’s A11 chip, the results were impressive, beating out the Samsung Galaxy S8 and even some MacBook Pros.
True Tone Display
This year, Apple has added True Tone display technology to its products. Back in June 2017, the Cupertino company first debuted the technology on its new iPad Pro lineup, which was widely welcome by users and tech experts worldwide.
Basically, True Tone dynamically adjusts the while balance of your iPhone’s display to match the lighting around you for a better contrast.
One of the best things when it comes to Apple iPhone lies in its cameras. This year, Apple has improved the cameras on both devices, allowing for more stunning images. The iPhone 8 features a single 12 MP rear shooter with f/1.8 aperture and OIS support, while the bigger device includes a dual-12MP camera setup.
On the front, both devices sport a FaceTime HD camera with 7MP resolution and a Quad LED True Tone flash, thus offering a better picture quality even in low-light conditions.
Wireless charging was a long-requested feature on iPhone. This year, Apple has officially made it an essential part of its smartphones. Just simply place your phone on a charging pad and your iPhone will charge up.
