After several beta updates, Apple has finally released the latest operating systems for its devices, including Apple TV, and Apple Watch, iOS to the public. Get ready for downloading and device will restart after you update to iOS 12, tvOS 12, and watchOS 5. The latest macOS Mojave is scheduled for rollout on Monday, September 24.
How To Download Official iOS 12, tvOS 12 And WatchOS 5
iOS 12 comes with a number of new features, but the best one is that this update runs much faster on older devices. Some of the great features include improved battery use info, new gestures on iPad, Memoji, better password management, etc…
iOS 12 supports all iOS devices that could previously run iOS 11 version. The simplest way to update is to directly update on your device. There will be a notification when iOS 12 is available, the process will take a while. If you are eager with the update, you can manually check by heading to Settings > General > Software Update. The update is now available for all iOS devices. If you cannot find the update, just read this post to fix the issue.
If you want to use iTunes for the iOS 12 update, connect your device to the computer, click on the device when it appears in the iTunes menu. Next, click on Summary tab in the left and click Check for Updates button. If there is an update available, there will be a prompt to download it, simply click “Download and Update” to continue the process.
iOS 12 On HomePod
HomePod only runs on a special version of iOS 12, which receives an update along with Apple’s mobile products. It includes the improvements:
- Search song by lyrics
- Support for making phone calls
- Siri Shortcuts
- Multiple timers
- Find My iPhone
By default, your HomePod will be updated automatically.
If you are using an Apple TV 4th or 4K generation, you are lucky then it receives a boost with the tvOS 12 update. The biggest change is the addition of Dolby Atmos, but there is also a new “Arials” screensavers and, depending on the provider or carrier of your TV.
To update your Apple TV to the latest build, simply go to Settings > System > Software Updates and click on Update Software.
The Apple Watch Series 4 will be pre-installed WatchOS 5 as soon as it goes on sale, but existing Apple Watch owners can still upgrade their Watch to the latest watchOS 5. However, if you are just using the original Apple Watch (the first generation), you are unlucky as watchOS 5 does not support that model.
After you upgrade your Watch to watchOS 5, you’ll get the following new features:

- Grouped notifications
- Siri raise-to-speak (Only on Series 3 and 4)
To update your Apple Watch to the latest build simply launch the Watch app on the connected iPhone. Next, tap on General > Software Update and put your Watch on the charger to complete the update. It will take a while, so you should be patient.
