Internet has tons of information about the iPhone 2009 and the following material will try to filter out the most important. It is clear that July 17 will be the official presentation of the phone from Apple, but there is new interesting information.
One of the recent rumors on the Internet is that iPhone 2009 will use OLED displays to replace the current. So far we have not seen AMOLED display quality such as the iPhone, but who knows maybe we will be surprised. One is certain, however, AMOLED displays use less power than standard LCD which will definitely affect positively the life of the battery.
Also, the Apple logo on the back will “shine” like on the company’s laptops, this is still one of the allegedly occurring on the Internet lately.
It is likely that the new iPhone 2009 has no metal frame around the display and the camera is 3.2 megapixel with autofocus and video recording function and a function for sending video/images on MMS. The RAM memory will be doubled, and the processor will be about 30 percent more rapid. Initially thought that the phone will have a rubber coated back, but nothing can be said with certainty before the official presentation.
Finally, the new iPhone will be available in two versions – a 16GB built-in memory and 32GB memory. All this sounds very good, we are impatient to see whether it will prove true.
Skype, Inc. has just released their official Skype application for the iPhone and iPod touch.
Skype is a very popular voice-over-IP (VOIP) and instant messaging application that allows you to make phone calls over the internet. Calls can be made to other Skype users or to those with regular landline phones.

As restricted by Apple, the voice-over-IP phone calls will only work over Wi-Fi and not over the cellular connection. iPod Touch owners with a microphone can also take advantage of the VOIP calling.

Frustratingly enough, Skype app is crash-prone, it crashes way too much at this stage. We have nothing to complain since it is FREE but it can be a pain to use it as a desktop-skype replacement. You can now call those 1800 numbers for free from Skype.

The app itself resembles closely to the desktop variant including login sounds, look and feel and ringers. Take a quick peek at the screenshots and download it from iTunes AppStore.

Skype for iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch is expected to be released for free download tomorrow. The application will be completely free and it will be distributed through iTunes App Store. All Skype functions will be wrapped in Apple’s functional interface. More information will be available tomorrow.

The iPhone 3G has been selling like hot cakes and it seems like it will sell even more in Q4. In fact, Apple will be shipping 5 million units for Q4, which ends on September 30th.
This new estimate has Apple targeting 7.4 million iPhones before the holiday season even begins. Not too shabby, if you ask me. While this is a drop down from the previous estimate that had Apple producing 800,000 iPhones a week, it is still rather impressive.
Several internet magazines released the information that Apple are building over 800,000 iPhones a week. Foxconn which are putting together the devices already works above the usual capacity.
We want to remind you that Apple already sold 6 million iPhones and if Foxconn keep that building speed the iPhone 3Gs will number over 40 million.
Vodafone announced it has signed an agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone in ten of its markets around the world. Later this year, Vodafone customers in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, New Zealand, Portugal, South Africa and Turkey will be able to purchase the iPhone for use on the Vodafone network.
No details have been released for launch dates but for the countries mentioned there is light at the end of the tunnel.
